The Witcher: The Time of Contempt

It is hard to write much about books that are in a series, especially when multiple books in. This is just more of The Witcher. A dark, turbulent world, full of greed, politics, monsters, magic, and Geralt. There is a lot of switching between story lines in this one, so it did at times lead me to be a bit overwhelmed with who is who when any story leaves Geralt, Dandelion, Yennefer, or Ciri. Yet the different storylines help expand on the world and all the morally grey to obviously immoral people and factions that reside within it.

I wish this book had more Geralt in it, but I also love the amount of Ciri we get. It is borderline depressing at times reading what happens to her. Here's hoping it gets better in the next one. It probably won't. It's The Witcher.

Again, if you like dark fantasy, The Witcher is top-notch, and you should try out the series.
