A Flash Photo Christmas

Jan. 2, 2025

First off, Merry Christmas and Happy New Year from Syd and I! This is us after four Christmas services on Christmas Eve. One of the most fun (and favorite parts) of Christmas for me is getting to serve together with Syd playing music and spending all of Christmas Eve with our friends and church.

Alright now for the photos. My friend Paul recently has been talking about how jealous he is that my x100VI has a built-in flash, and his camera doesn't. He told me to try shooting some flash photos for the holidays, and I have become obsessed with it. The contrast with the black and white photos is incredible, and some of the color photos have such a different feeling. Many of these photos were shot with the flash, and I would not be surprised if the next couple of months include a lot of black and white flash photography in the dreary winter of the PNW.

We also did a kitchen remodel in the last few months and finished it in December, so I have a handful of photos I took to show that off. But I actually really love the photos still. The brightness our kitchen offers now is pretty insane compared to the old dark tile, so expect many coffee photos and pictures of things happening in our kitchen now that it doesn't look like a dark, depressing cave anymore.
